Punta del Este:
Punta del Este is located in the southeast of Uruguay, on a sharp peninsula after which was named (“Punta del Este” means “Eastern Peninsula/Point” in Spanish). It is doubtless one of the most important seaside towns in Uruguay and nowadays constitutes the most distinguished and sophisticated beach resort in South America, referred to as “the American Saint Tropez” by many tourists. Today, it is not only America’s favourite beach, but it is also the holiday destination chosen by the international jet set, since it is annually visited by several famous personalities of all nations.
This seaside town is one of the few in the world that offers two well-differentiated types of beaches. On the one hand, there is La Mansa, a beach of calm waters protected from currents and sea winds, ideal for sailing and windsurf lovers. On the other hand, we can find La Brava, a beach with impetuous waves chosen by surfers. |
